During April 22 to 24, 2016, The 5th Symposium on Liquid Crystal Photonics (SLCP) was held at Peking University. Assistant Professor Luo Dan of SUSTC-EEE led the research group to attend the symposium, and the research achievement was recognized by the organizing committee. The content of Xu Xiaowan’s report was to reduce the drive voltage of polymer blue phase liquid crystal reflective device by adding ferroelectric nano particles, reduce 70% of drive voltage through experiment research and solve such an application difficulty that the drive voltage of blue phase device was high. The report of Niu Xiaofang researched a CA biosensor based on 5CB liquid crystal material. This sensor could realize quick detection on CA in solution system, and its advantages lied in that the cost of lower detection limit was lower than the traditional detection method and expensive and complex detection devices were not required. The report of Liu Qifu was about the research on double refraction optical properties and absorption coefficient of THz liquid crystal material. This material could be used to prepare THz tunable harmonic piece.
