Dr. Guoqiang GU graduated from Xiamen University. He worked as a postdoc and visiting scholar in the National University of Singapore, and postdoc in Shenzhen University. He joined Southern University of Science and Technology in 2018. His research interests are focused on interaction between light and microparticle, including resonance interaction of whispering gallery mode optical microcavities and non-resonance interaction of photonic nanojets and label-free super-resolution optical imaging.

Research Introduction

Optical Microcavities: fabrication, simulation and whispering gallery mode properties of optical microcavities, sensing and lasing applications based on optical microcavities.

Photonic Nanojets: photonic nanojet effects of microparticles and single nanoparticle detection by using photonic nanojets.

Super-resolution Optical Imaging: label-free super-resolution optical imaging with microparticles.

Recruitment Announcement

We are looking for self-motivated graduate students who are interested in studying fundamental optical physics and exploring interesting phenomena in micro/nano-scale photonic devices. We are interested in students with background in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, biology and material science.

We welcome undergraduate students who have passion in science and new technology in optics and photonics to join our group. Interesting projects in the areas of whispering gallery mode optical microcavities, photonic nanojets and super-resolution optical imaging are available for undergraduate students.
